Yes. I concur with what you said.
Shankara clearly states - bhaava adviatam na tu kriyaa advaitam. Advaita involves negation of dvaita that is perceived or experienced at transactional level. Yes teacher is treated still as teacher, mother is still mother and father is still a father, even while from understanding wise - na guru na sishyaH, chidaananada ruupaH shivoham shivoham.
