The most comprehensive defence in the Vedic tradition is Atmatattvaviveka 
by UdAyanAcharya of the nyAya school. It is also known as bauddhadhikkara 
("a reproach to the Buddhists") because it is mainly against their 
arguments for the impermanance of atma.
