ChhAndogyopanishad 4.17.1:

prajApatirlokAnabhyatapatteShAM tapyamAnAnAM rasAnprAvR^ihadagniM 
pR^ithivyA vAyumantarikShAdAdityaN divaH ||

"Prajapati performed the tapa of meditating on the worlds and from them 
that were meditated on he squeezed out the essence; Agni from the earth, 
Vayu from the antariksha, and Aditya from heaven."
