Namaste Sri Venkatraghavan Ji,

BU 4-4-22 mentions << तमेतं वेदानुवचनेन ब्राह्मणा विविदिषन्ति यज्ञेन दानेन
तपसानाशकेनैतमेव विदित्वा मुनिर्भवति । >>

<<(tametaM vedAnuvachanena brAhmaNA vividiShanti yaj~nena dAnena
tapasAnAshakenaitameva viditvA munirbhavati |>>,

By various sAdhanAs, a sAdhaka imbibes an intense desire (vividisha)
(mumukshutva) to “know” Atman. sanyAsa taken to realize this objective is
vividisha sanyAsa. Mundaka Upanishad mantra 1-2-12

<< परीक्ष्य लोकान्कर्मचितान्ब्राह्मणो >> (parIkShya
lokAnkarmachitAnbrAhmaNo)

also pertains to this stage. The sAdhaka has already acquired the
adhikAritva for such sanyAsa. So the question of an unqualified aspirant
does not arise. The reason why vividisha sanyAsa is considered superior to
karmayoga is because of the superiority of the ultimate goal that is
achievable through it. In the sAdhana mArga towards achieving the final
Goal, karmayoga is to be followedup by vividisha sanyAsa.

Regards
