Sorry I'm just catching up with some old posts.

If you are referring to Satyakama Jabala, this is a common misconception
but the exact *opposite* of what the story means.  Speaking the truth
doesn't make you a Brahman, being a Brahman makes you speak the truth.
This is discussed in the Brahmasutras in the apashudraprakarana.
