If it is wrong to assume Brahmana status willy-nilly, why is it anymore
right to assume shudrahood in the same way?  Either these terms have some
objective meaning or they don't.

Besides, it's not true.  Many other castes have karmas which are as
complex as the Brahmanas.  They deserve respect on their own merits too.
