Vishnu and Shiva

Why may i humbly ask

   -The Great Sri Shankaracharya - entirely in his Prastana
Treya
uses only the word vishnu / narayana for Brahman.

shiva is conspiciously absent in his bhashyas - except for
mandukya where the sruthi itself says - shivam advaitam.
