Temples are overflowing with Shivabhakta-s tonight.

On this occasion, it is our acharya's Nirvaana Shatakam that comes to
my mind all the time

mano budhya aha.nkAra cittAninAhaM
na ca Srotra jihve na ca grANa netrer
na ca vyoma bhUmir na tejo na vAyu
cidAna.nda rUpaH Sivoham Sivoham

neither mind nor intellect nor ego nor thoughts am I
neither ear nor tongue nor nose nor eyes am I
neither space nor earth nor fire nor air am I
I am Siva, of the nature of eternal bliss

na ca prANa saMj~no na vai panca vAyur
na ca sapta dhAtur na va panca koSA
na vAk pANi pAdam na copastha pAyu

neither breath nor the five vital airs am I
neither the 7 elements nor the 5 sheaths am I
neither speech nor hands nor feet nor the egestive organs am I
I am Siva, of the nature of eternal bliss

na me dveSha rAgau na me lobha mohau
madho naiva me naiva mAtsarya bhAva
na dharma na cArtho na kAmo na mokShaH

neither enmity nor friendship nor greed nor lust have I
neither pride nor feeling of envy have I
neither duty nor wealth nor desire nor salvation have I
I am Siva, of the nature of eternal bliss

na puNyaM na pApaM na saukhyaM na duHkhaM
na mantro na tIrthaM na veda na yaj~na
ahaM bhojanaM naiva bhojyaM na bhoktAH

neither good deeds nor bad deeds nor happiness nor sorrow have I
neither mantra nor tIrtha (holy water / holy place) nor veda nor yajna have I
neither food nor the eater of the food am I
I am Siva, of the nature of eternal bliss

na me mRtyu SankA na me jAti bhedaH
pitA naiva me naiva mAtA na janma
na ba.ndhur na mitraM gurur naiva SiShyaH

neither fear of death nor distinction of jaati have I
neither father nor mother nor even birth have I
neither relatives nor friends nor teacher nor disciple have I
I am Siva, of the nature of eternal bliss

ahaM nirvikalpo nirAkAra rUpo
vibhutwaSca sarvatra sarvendriyAnAM
sadA me samatvam na muktir na bandhaH
cidAna.nda rUpaH Sivoham Sivoham

partless and formless am I
existing everywhere and pervading all senses am I
always unchanging, neither free nor captive am I
I am Siva, of the nature of eternal bliss
