It is not only Padmapada, but also Sureshvara who accepts Ignorance
as a Material Cause:

asya dvaita indrjAlasya yat.h upAdAnakAraNam.h |

effect, but brahman alone]."


Can Sureshvara be wrong too -- in ascribing a "Causal Power" to
Ignorance?
