RV: Yes. Jnani is a type of devotee (catuvidhe bhajante mam) who realizes
oneness with the lord. He is very special and dear to the Lord because a
jnani is the very Self o f the Lord.  Of course, like Rahu's head the Lord
and His Self are non-different.

Mr.Rajaram Venkataramani
You have misunderstood my mail.I didnot ask you whether Jnana and Bhakthi are the same by the quotation above from BG and Shankara's Bhashya.Shankaras in his bhshya says clearly,"Asthitah arodum pravrttah sah Jnani hi yasmat"Ahameva Bhagavan Vasudevah,na anyosmi"ityevam yuktatma samahitah san mameva param Brahma gantavyam anuttamam gatim gantum pravrtta ityarthah.Jnani punarapi stuyate.

What the Bhashya says that "The jnani is not different from Me(Vasudevah,Atma,Brahman). This is Adwaita point of view. There is no Bhakthi as is said by you."Aham Brasmami",Tatvamasi."Right.Now have you understood my Email above?
