[Advaita-l] Shankha and Siva Puja

Namaste,

One of the reference provided in Mahanyasaadi MantraH complied by Sri
Sheshachala sharma in kannada is the below:

Sarvatriva prashathobdhaH shivasuryaachanam vina, saligrama poojayam
shankha pooja anivarya, sakshath shiva poojavidhou nasthi sampyadayahaH,
athaH shankaha pooja aicchiki.

Shankha pooja is auspicious for all dieties apart from shiva and surya
pooja.
During salagrama pooja it is mandatory, however during shiva pooja
sampradaya is not there to use hence it is optional.
