[Advaita-l] How to get Guidance and Divine Blessing from Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya peetam's ( Kanchipuram or Sringeri)

I would second Sri Subrahmanian's suggestions. Please have someone make a trip in person,
equipped with details of your plans to ask for blessings directly from the Acharyas. As you
mention that you are not physically located in India, I would urge you to remember that the
people at all the Sankaracharya Mathas understand and follow age old Indian traditions and
protocols of behavior. They may still not be quite comfortable with things that we assume for
granted in this globally connected age. 
 
Going through the administrators and managers are fine for other purposes, but if you want
to get religious guidance or blessings for building a temple, personal interaction with the
Acharya is necessary. There is no point in ruing the absence of response to emails or phone
calls. The reality is that the managers gets tens of thousands of emails and regular postal mails
per day and they are severely short staffed. It is really impossible for them to attend to
everything immediately.
 
So, to reiterate, I'm sure there are people on the ground who are helping you implement your
project, so have somebody go to the Acharya in person, with details. And while it is not necessary
to specially highlight your devotion to Sai Baba, it is also not necessary to hide it either. Swami
Bharati Tirtha of Sringeri appreciates honesty, sincerity and dedication, but it is almost impossible
to gauge these qualities through emails and phone calls. If you go in person with the requisite
qualifications, I think you will find that things progress that much easier. And let me hasten to
add that the person who goes first and talks about this doesn't have to be a brAhmaNa man either.
Find the best person who can represent this and ask him or her to do the needful.
 
The only other specific suggestion I would make is to go after Navaratri is over, because there are
many prior time commitments for the Acharya during this period!
