But why at all Padmapada engages in a comparison, even though it is a
contrast, between Shankara his guru and Paramashiva of all gods, who has
nothing to do with Shankaracharya, a vaishnava, according to you and Paul
Hacker? Only if this question is answered there can be any meaning in what
you proceed to conjecture below. A mere name does not demand a
compare-contrast.
