I'd translate the verse so: That consciousness [which is] free from
knowledge of objects and free from ignorance is knowledge. What else is
there to know?
Ganapati Muni says: ज्ञानवर्जिता अज्ञानहीना च चित् ज्ञानं भवति। ननु ज्ञाने
ज्ञानवर्जितत्वं कथम् इति चेत् कारणम् आह। ज्ञातुं यत् किञ्चिद् अन्यद्
वेदितुम् अन्तरं भेदः अस्ति किम्? नास्ति इति भावः। तत्र स्थितौ भेदाभावात्
तदाश्रितलोकप्रसिद्धज्ञानाभावः| एवम् अपि सा स्थितिः ज्ञानमय्येव
पूर्णानुभूतिरूपत्वात्।
