[Advaita-l] Maya and Avidya

Dear Sri Umesh
Avidya and Maya are not synonymous.Avidya is a state of a person who is
lacking or bereft of the required knowledge.Maya is just a non
entity.Brahman is nirupadhika.When It unites with Maya it is called
Easwara.That is Maya becomes an upadhi of Brahman.This is valid only in
transanctional level.Who is not able to understand this is said to be a
person of avidhya.
This is my understanding.
