[Advaita-l] avidyA = mAyA

In the individual sense:
 
  AtmA -> avidyA
 
In the cosmic sense:
 
  Brahman -> mAyA
 
Since advaita claims:
 
  AtmA = Brahman
 
It stands to reason that:
 
  avidyA = mAyA
 
In the epistemic sense, it is ignorance ("avidyA").
In the ontic sense, it is an illusive power ("mAyA").
 
Those who spot differences between avidyA and mAyA are
engaged in splitting hairs, due to their own avidyA and mAyA! ;-)
