The Vedanta teaches 'Tat Tvam asi'. The experience thereafter is 'Aham
Brahma Asmi'.  The Vedanta also teaches 'atmaiva idam  sarvam', 'brahmaiva
idam sarvam', etc. There are many such statements. All this means there is
only consciousness and nothing inert anywhere.  Even to say 'subjects' in
plural is not accurate; there is only one Consciousness, Chit, and all the
many 'sentient' ones are only this One with upadhis.  There is only gold
and all ornaments are only gold really. There is only space and all
enclosures are only space captured, as it were, in them.  When the
enclosures are removed, we have one indivisible space.

The Mundakopanishad 2.2.12 gives the message very aptly:

ब्रह्मैवेदममृतं पुरस्ताद्ब्रह्म पश्चाद्ब्रह्म दक्षिणतश्चोत्तरेण ।
अधश्चोर्ध्वं च प्रसृतं ब्रह्मैवेदं विश्वमिदं वरिष्ठम् ॥ १२ ॥
