Namaste
The syllable namaH is regarded as a nipAta or irregular word-form (of the
likes of svAhA used for offering oblations to the deva-s, svadhA for the
worship of ancestors etc), used in the sense of "salutation" in many
mantras.

Is any such "meaning" assignable to the word namaH?
Is there any scriptural basis that this word namaH also carries the sense
of "na mama" (this belongs not to me but to the Lord.)?

Om
