This is a question that I've had for a while now:
** Is "adhyAsa" (superimposition) a fancy theoretical term for the more common practical words "rAga" (attachment) or "bandha" (bondage)? **
The word "adhyAsa" is used primarily in the context of highly technical texts that concentrate on the philosophical aspects of Vedanta with the aim of GYAna or Wisdom.
Whereas the words "rAga" and "bandha" are used in practical Vedanta where the emphasis is on achieving Moksha or Salvation.
But just wondering if adhyAsa and rAga/bandha are merely two sides of the same coin?
adhyAsa (theoretical/epistemological) ~ rAga or bandha (practical/ontological) ??
Regards,
Kartik
