Also one more thing about Haradatta Sivacharyar.

Haradatta Sivacharayar, originally a Vaishnava by the name of Sudarshana
underwent great ordeals to prove his devotion towards Shiva to his fellow
Vaishnavites at Kanjanur.

He was born in a Sri Vaishnava but was attracted to going to Shiva temples
applying ashes and wearing rudrakshas. Knowing this his father wanted to
initiate him into Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya. Sudarshana (Haradatta) was
crying and prayed to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva himself will come in disguise
to initiate Sudarshana (Haradatta). Instead of marking sanka chakra he will
mark nandi and trishul and he will disappear. Haradatta's joy knew no
bounds. From then on he changed his name to Haradatta and wrote a lot of
commentaries on Veda/Vedanta Sutras establishing that everything including
Brahma and Narayana are servants of Lord Shiva and there is no God above
Lord Shiva.

Works of Haradatta are available in PDFs at the end of this page.

One of this excellent works is Sruti Sukti Mala where in 151 verses he says
that Shiva is the essence of the Shruti
