[Advaita-l] Bhishma Ashtami Tarpanam

Namaste Sriram-ji,

Thanks for re-minding and high-lighting on Bhishma Ashtami.

Although, many have indicated adhikara for the jivatpitru (father alive) as
said by you, however, surprisingly, Smrtikaustubha has suggested nisheda
for jivatpitru for the Bhishma tarpana.
It says "Jivatpitrukasya NaatraadhikaraH", Sapituhu pitrukrutheyshu
naadhikarah kathanchana".
