In this context, Brahman is compared to a lump of salt and said to be
homogenous, without an interior or exterior, devoid of particularisation -
it is of the nature of pure intelligence. Here by equating Brahman to
prajnAnaghana, consciousness that is totally devoid of particulars
(including in an undifferentiated, causal seed form) is meant.>>,

In BUB 2-4-12 also, the context is the same as in 4-5-13 cited above namely
lump of salt illustration. In fact the lump of salt illustration is far
more elaborately presented in the Bhashya on 2-4-12. There the word
विज्ञानघनः (vij~nAnaghanaH) is used instead. The Bhashya explains as to
how this word is to be split for proper understanding. It states

<<विज्ञानं च तद्घनश्चेति विज्ञानघनः >>

<< vij~nAnaM cha tadghanashcheti vij~nAnaghanaH >>.

प्रज्ञानघन (prajnanaghana) in 4-5-13 also is to be similarly understood as

<< प्रज्ञानंच तद्घनश्चेति प्रज्ञानघनः >>

<< praj~nAnaMcha tadghanashcheti praj~nAnaghanaH >>.
