[Advaita-l] Regarding the Pancharatra, Shankara is one with Purvamimamsa

I can understand your zeal for the support of Pancharatra. In the Brihat
Brahma Samhita of Narada Pancharatra, which I have provided links too
recently, the UttaradimaTha pontiff said that 'everything stated here is
not acceptable.' As one can see from the text much of the things that
vishsishtadvaitins accept is what is found there. I pointed out the
particular case of 'kevala nimitta kaaranatva for the jagatkaarana' and
'abhinna nimittopaadaana kaaranatva'. Shankara opens the pancharatra
adhikarana in the BS with the statement that 'this school admits ubhaya
kaaranatva but yet there are some issues that are not vedanta friendly and
hence the refutation. While this ubhaya kaaranatva is admitted by
vishishstadvaitins, dvaitins do not. There could be pancharatra texts that
are dvaita-friendly. I do not know. But from the above observations, there
appears to be no finality within the pancharatra on at least this one
issue.
