Because for advaita (or at least the version that I know), multiple jeevas are only a vyavahArika satya.

Ø ghatAkAsha, patAkAsha and its limited boundaries due to its name and shape is vyAvahArika satya where avidyA holds sway with regard to parichinnatva (limitedness), when this ghatAkAsha realizes that it is nothing but mahAkAsha, the limit becomes unlimited parichinnatva realizes that it is in svarUpa aparichinna only….boundless, limitless mahAkAsha…this is paramArtha, ghatAkAsha (parichinnatvaM) in mahAkAsha (aparichinnatvaM) parikalpitam due to avidyA /adhyAsa…so simple and at the same time so profound is the shruti verdict.

Hari Hari Hari Bol!!!
