[Advaita-l] Quarrel between Two 'Kalai' followers of Srivaishnavism

Whetherphilosophy could be kept completely out of religion or can the two coexist."A very interesting question indeed!Mantra 2-1-14 of Kathopanishad gives the answer ver clearly.It reads thus :      anyatra dharmAdanyatrAdharmAt ||dharma and adharma fall within the parameters of religion, 
whereas the Absolute Reality or paramArthatattva is 
the subject matter of Philosophy. 
You can draw the right conclusion in the light 
of the above quoted mantra.
Unfortunately Advaita also has been brought under the 
Hindu Religion due to mistaken notions and there is a notionthat it is the jahagiri or property of some religious mathas.
No doubt for advaitajnana a Religious mind is absolutely essential.It may please be noted a reigious mind is entirely differennt from a mindwhich owes allegiance to religions.
This is my understanding.

There were fist-fights, pushing, wordy duels, cursing, etc.

A friend said that this is an annual feature during the Nammazhwar festival
in the Kanchi Varadarajaswamy temple, the other several  unsettled burning
issues between the two sects notwithstanding.

A question arises as to the philosophy-religion dichotomy. Whether
philosophy could be kept completely out of religion or can the two coexist.
