Thanks Sriramji,

That reminds me it is not a guNa comparison at all. In fact, taddhita
pratyaya वत् cannot be used if the similarity is in guNa. The
vyAkaraNasUtra says तेन तुल्यं क्रिया चेद्वतिँः। So to be precise, I should
be saying that when the kriyA (or lack thereof) is similar to that of
another, then that another takes the suffix वत्।

vyAkaraNaM mukhaM proktam,
