[Advaita-l] Whether darkness is bhava - Vivarana Prameya Samgraha of Shri Vidyaranya

We have expressions like 'मन्दान्धकारः, गाढान्धकारः, निबिडतमः, etc. Since
visheshana, qualifier, is added to tamas, it may be concluded that tamas is
a bhaava padaartha. Shankara has said that 'abhava cannot have qualifiers,
gradations.'   शून्ये हि लक्ष्ये अनर्थकं लक्षणवचनम् ।
