[Advaita-l] शिष्टाचारः on keeping moustache (श्मश्रु)

 What does shiSTAchAra say on sporting moustache only without beard
Sastra doesn't talk about any moustache any where, but it tallks about the Shikha  (Pilaka). There are methods how to keep that  for Shishtacharya.

In northern india several people keeps shikha other than the brahmanas which they say that it is a part of Hindu religious practise.
kerala Namboodris, dikshitars from chidambaram keeps  puffets (a bunch of hairs at the back side of the head)

Manstra Pushpam says : "Tasya Sikhayamadhye paramatma Vyavasthitah| Sabhrahma, Sasiva, Ssahari syendrasoaksharah Parama Svarat"
One can reach the lotus feet  through the Brahmma randhra of the sikha.
