[Advaita-l] amR^itabindUpanishhat cited by Shankara is cited in an earlier text 629 AD

Shankara, in his Brahma sutra Bhashya 3.2.18 cites the following mantra:

एक एव हि भूतात्मा भूते भूते व्यवस्थितः । एकधा बहुधा चैव दृश्यते जलचन्द्रवत्
।
                                     [अमृतबिन्दूपनिषद् श्लोक १२]

//यत एव च अयमात्मा चैतन्यरूपो निर्विशेषो वाङ्मनसातीतः परप्रतिषेधोपदेश्यः,
अत एव च अस्योपाधिनिमित्तामपारमार्थिकीं विशेषवत्तामभिप्रेत्य
जलसूर्यकादिवदित्युपमा उपादीयते मोक्षशास्त्रेषु — ‘यथा ह्ययं ज्योतिरात्मा
विवस्वानपो भिन्ना बहुधैकोऽनुगच्छन् । उपाधिना क्रियते भेदरूपो देवः
क्षेत्रेष्वेवमजोऽयमात्मा’ इति, ‘एक एव हि भूतात्मा भूते भूते व्यवस्थितः ।
एकधा बहुधा चैव दृश्यते जलचन्द्रवत्’ (ब्र. बिं. १२) इति चैवमादिषु ॥ १८ ॥//

Of this Upanishad, this particular shloka:  न निरोधो न चोत्पत्तिर्न बद्धो न
च साधकः । न मुमुक्षुर्न वै मुक्त इत्येषा परमार्थता ॥ १०॥

is cited in the Mandukya Karika 2.32 of Gaudapadacharya though not as a
mantra.

A mantra from this Upanishad is cited by Sri Vidyaranya in the Panchadashi,
Dvaitaviveka chapter:

ग्रन्थमभ्यस्य मेधावी ज्ञानविज्ञानतत्परः ।
पलालमिव धान्यार्थी त्यजेद्ग्रन्थमशेषतः ॥ ४५॥

These verses of the upanishad bring out the unmistakable Advaitic message:

ज्ञाननेत्रं समाधाय चोद्धरेद्वह्निवत्परम् । निष्कलं निर्मलं शान्तं

सर्वभूताधिवासं च यद्भूतेषु वसत्यपि । सर्वानुग्राहकत्वेन तदस्म्यहं
वासुदेवः तदस्म्यहं वासुदेव इति ॥ २२॥

The Indian astronomer bhAskara I wrote in the year 629 A.D. his bhAshhya on
the AryabhaTIya. AryabhaTa wrote the astronomical teatise AryabhaTIya in
121 shlokas in 499 A.D. In the commentary thereon, bhAskara twice cites a
text named the amR^itabindUpanishhat. In his bhAshhya on shloka 1 of the
gItikA - pAda, he writes:

एक एव हि भूतात्मा भूते भूते व्यवस्थितः । एकधा बहुधा चैव दृश्यते जलचन्द्रवत्
।
                                     [अमृतबिन्दूपनिषद् श्लोक १२]

द्वे ब्रह्मणी वेदितव्ये शब्दब्रह्म परं च यत् । शब्दब्रह्मणि निष्णातः परं
ब्रह्माधिगच्छति ॥
                                     [अमृतबिन्दूपनिषद् श्लोक
७; वायुपुराणम्, अंश ६. अध्याय ५. श्लोक ६४]
      One of the quotes is also described as being from the vAyupurANa. So
here are two verses from a text before 1000 A.D.
