Quite right.  The goal is Shiva sayujya or complete identity with Him. 
chidananda rupam shivo'ham shivo'ham.

Shri Apayya Dikshita commented on the thought of Shrikantha and accepted 
it as a basis for sadhana but only as a preliminary to Advaitic jnana. 
Only with this proviso is it acceptable.
