 is a short video where a Srivaishnava sings a Tamil song addressed to
Andal. The poet conceives of some interesting incidents where Andal has to
encounter hosting her Naathanaar, sister in law, Parvathy, along with her
husband Shiva and his retinue.   I was curious to know the details of this
song and made an enquiry.  A friend informed me:  In 'VaaraNam aayiram'
Andal says: Parvathi ('anTari' in Sangam literature, the name for Parvathi)
put one garland on me.  (This is a ritual in Tamil marriages where the
sister in law puts one garland to her brother's wife) during the wedding.
So, Andal held Parvathi to be her Naathanaar.

Those who know Tamil can enjoy the song in the video.

'வாரணமாயிரம்' பதிகத்தில் ஆண்டாள் அம்பிகையைத் தம் நாத்தனாராகப் பாடியுள்ளார்.

இதற்கு நான் சொன்னேன்:  'அந்தரி' என்ற சொல் பார்வதியைக் குறிக்கச் சங்க
இலக்கியத்தி்ல் உள்ளதாக நினைவு. சிலம்பிலும் இருக்கலாம்.
