[Advaita-l] An interesting gloss by Anandagiri to Shankara's bhashya

Here is a verse from the Mundaka Upanishat: 2.1.8:

सप्त प्राणाः प्रभवन्ति तस्मात्सप्तार्चिषः समिधः सप्त होमाः ।
सप्तेमे लोका येषु चरन्ति प्राणा गुहाशया निहिताः सप्त सप्त ॥ ८ ॥
8. From Him have sprung the seven pranas, the seven flames, the seven kinds
of fuel, the seven oblations and also the seven planes where move the
pranas, lying in the cave, which are seven in each living being.

In the Bhashya, Shankara gives the purport of this mantra thus:

यानि च आत्मयाजिनां विदुषां कर्माणि कर्मफलानि चाविदुषां च कर्माणि तत्साधनानि
कर्मफलानि च सर्वं चैतत्परस्मादेव पुरुषात्सर्वज्ञात्प्रसूतमिति प्रकरणार्थः ॥
All the actions of the knowers (seekers) and the fruits thereof and those
of the ignorant emanate from this Para Brahman alone.
To this statement, Anandagiri glosses:

आत्मयाजिनामति ।

*सकलमिदमहं च परमात्मैवेतिभावनापूर्वकं* *परमेश्वराराधनबु*द्ध्या ये यजन्ति
तेषामित्यर्थः ॥२.१.८॥

The highlighted part means: Those who worship the Parameshwara with the
conviction: All this as well as me are nothing but the Supreme.

This idea is an paraphrase of the statement in the Vishnu Purana:

*सकलमिदमहं च वासुदेवः*
     परमपुमान्परमेश्वरः स एकः ।
इति मतिरमला भवत्यनन्ते
     हृदयगते व्रज तान्विहाय दूरात् ॥ 3.7.32 ||

 Yama instructs his men: Never go anywhere near those who are endowed with

this firm conviction: All this as well as me are the Supreme Lord Vasudeva.

The Advaitic purport is obvious. The words of the verse are seen so
well woven in the Anandagiri gloss.
