Namaste sir.
Not only in Advaita even the other vaishnava schools worship devatas with
the notion that Vishnu is being worshipped. Either he is their antaratma or
his amsha.
Hence the popular saying "akasat patitam toyam yatha gachathi sagaram.
Sarva Deva namaskaram kesavam prathigachati".
