The participants can note that the Vedanta teaching is given free for all in keeping with the tradition. However participants are expected to donate a reasonable amount (yatha shakti in keeping with your means ) to cover the cost of their stay and food.

  *   In Holenarsipura also Kayalaya authorities very often conduct 'vedAnta shibira' vedAnta saptAha' etc. on the chargeable basis.  They insist per participant this much as there is no sponsors for this program.  So, IMO, when there is 'expectation' there should not be any hesitation to collect the 'reasonable amount' by specifically asking the participants to pay when sponsors are at vague.
