There are many passages across the Shruti, Smriti, Puranas where the
pot-space and Infinite space analogy is stated to drive home the identity
(aikyam/abheda) of the jiva (post-space) and Paramatman (infinite /
unconditioned space). In the Advaita Bhashya and other texts we have this
analogy stated profusely to convey the same theme: jivatma-paramatma
identity/aikyam/abheda.
Given below are many such instances from texts such as the Bhagavatam,
other Puranas, Upanishads, etc. In almost all cases the statements
themselves are unambiguous about the identity/aikyam. Even in very rare
cases where such identity is not explicit, by the other accompanying
analogies the implicit identity conveyed by the analogy is beyond any
doubt. Other schools have to contend with this analogy since aikyam/abheda
is not their doctrine.
Translation of the verses or the commentaries is not given in every case.
The theme is quite clear. With respect to the Bhagavatam, the commentary
of Sridhara swamin is given in most cases.
