Many scholars and sadhakas have been waiting a long time for this good
news. I for one intend to make this one of my donations for Navaratri and
buy a copy as soon as is available.
The problem with the Sanskrit book market is that there is small but
steady demand but this doesn't scale well with todays industrial
production demands. A print run of a few thousand is too small for the
big publishers and even that amount will have to sit in a warehouse for
years as they get slowly sold. A lot of publishers rely on subsidies from
the Ministry of Education etc. but this is not sustainable in the long
run. And despite the availability of PDFs, there is still a need for
actual physical books.
Happily the print-on-demand facility offered by Amazon, Flipkart etc. may
be a solution. Although slightly more costly per copy than traditional
printing, it enables one to keep inventory small yet available. If you
are considering publishing Sanskrit or other Dharmik books it's something
you should consider.
