Here is another instance of Bhagavatpada saying the Shakti is Brahman's very svabhAva:

दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया ।
मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते ॥ १४ ॥ दैवी देवस्य *मम ईश्वरस्य विष्णोः स्वभावभूता *हि यस्मात् एषा यथोक्ता गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया दुःखेन अत्ययः अतिक्रमणं यस्याः सा दुरत्यया । Again, here Ishwara, Vishnu, can't be NB but SB as the Mayashakti can't be the svabhAva of NB and its relevance is only with ref to SB.

> And saguNa brahman (SB) is not an aloof character apart from nirguNa brahman (NB) to declare that this pertains to SB NOT NB or vice versa. See what bhAshya on sUtra 5 says about brahman's svAbhAvika svarUpa and it is self-contradiction if one says Upanishad pratipAdya brahman is NOT omniscient or omnipotent. Because this is the very brahman capable of throwing light on everything as it is in itself 'everything'. If his knowledge is impermanent and based on upAdhi-s then HE could know things sometimes and could not know at other times, but that is not the case with brahman as he is not the subject to our fanciful imaginations / conclusions. More detailed discussion we can find elsewhere in sUtra bhAshya : kAraNasyAtmabhUtA shaktiH, shakteshchaatmabhUtaM kAryaM. The conclusion here is that the power is identical with the cause and the effect is identical with the power.

The socalled consciousness and power of the divine being eternally identical with the Being and it is only relativity that makes vedAntins speak of God's knowing or being the potential cause of an effect, just as it is in empirical life when we say fire burns the faggot, the river flows or the sun shines upon the snake when it creeps out of the anthill. It is clear that the absolutish of Advaita is in no way affected by these conventional ways of thinking or speaking.
