Sureshvara in NS 3.60 introduction -

One can produce the following bhAshya-vAkya from taittirIya 2.8.5 -
विवेकाविवेकौ रूपादिवत् प्रत्यक्षावुपलभ्येते अन्तःकरणस्थौ ।  - to claim that
avidyA is antah-karaNa-stha.

However, as you clearly pointed that NS says that antah-karaNa is born from
avidyA, there is no room for any doubt in this regard.

The bhAshya-vAkya is thus explained as under - since there is
ajnAna-Ashrayatva in shuddha chaitanya AND there is tAdAtmya-adhyAsa of
antah-karaNa with shuddha-chaitanya, HENCE, ajnAna-Ashrayatva seems to the
dharma of antah-karaNa owing to adhyAsa. Advaita Siddhi explains it - न
च–अहमर्थस्याज्ञानानाश्रयत्वेन कथमयं प्रत्ययो भावरूपाज्ञानपक्षे उपपद्यत इति
वाच्यम् । अज्ञानाश्रयीभूतचैतन्ये अन्तःकरणतादात्म्याध्यासेन
एकाश्रयत्वसंबन्धेनोपपत्तेः ।

Thanks for NS 3.60 which clinches this issue that antah-karaNa cannot be
the Ashraya of ajnAna because it is ajnAna-uttha.
