[Advaita-l] Why 144 year kumbh is in 2025?

Additionally I have a doubt, why the name 'kumbha mela' ??  What is the significance of kumbha (like ardha, pUrNa and mahA kumbha etc.) here??

I had a doubt
Since the Prayag Kumbh is held every 12 years, every kumbh would be 144 years after the previous kumbh.

For example, assuming kumbhs have been held since a few centuries, the 1869 kumbh would have been held. And the 2013 kumbh at prayag would also be 144 years after an earlier kumbh.

Unless the kumbhs are a very recent post-colonial event which commenced only in 1881.
