[Advaita-l] Kena Upanishad Shankara bhashya- pada, vakya, sanskrit question. (अभ्रूम)

Even in conversational English, the word "tell" is present tense and "told"
us past tense.

Yet we can use the word "told" to indicate something fact or declaration
yet to be told but which immediately follows.


Examples - Truth be *told*, I'm still not completely sure what happened. It
brought excitement to the village which, truth be told, needed it. Most of
the time, if truth be told, we get it wrong.
