What else did I say??  For vedAntins there is no purport in creation but there is a purpose in understanding srushti prakriya and kArya-kAraNa prakriya.  And that purpose what has been elaborated here below :

The creation, creator and created things are not mutually exclusive, it is HIM only, the creation and the process of creation, kArya-kAraNa etc. are just there to drive home the point that brahman is the secondless truth.  And to convey this point only, shruti explains the act of creation in various ways by means of illustrations like that of clay, metal and sparts etc. clarifies bhAshyakAra.  With regard to cause and effect Sri SSS somewhere makes this comment : from the rescission of this very relation of cause and effect, however we have to conclude that this method of cause and effect has been devised only for the purpose of revealing the non-difference of the effect from the cause.  For there are shruti-s like : he is born in diverse ways while he is really never born (ajAyamAno bahudhA vijAyate).
