The father of Ayyanna  Sastry,  Sri Venkatapathi kavi's surname is
VelidanDla. He was in the court of
one Magadala Krishnayya a rich patron in Pulicat (Pralayakaveri, A.P). He
dedicated his telugu
poetical work 'Radhamadhava Samvadamu' to krishnayya. In the introduction
to Vyasatatparya Nirnaya
Sri Vattipalli Narakanthirava Sastry, (Lecturer in Tarka and Alankara
Sastras, Tirupathi Sanskrita Pathasala);
says Venkatapathi kavi belongs to the Nandavarika brahmana sakha. Sri
Ayyanna Sastry appears to have
been in the court of Rajas of Venkatagiri (A.P). Ayyanna Sastry threw his
challenge to other scholars
in the court of rajas of Venkatagiri. Sri Narakanthirava Sastry mentions
that he has seen the palmyra leaf
on which Ayyanna Sastry has written and signed the challenge in telugu. In
the introduction he gives its
sanskrit translation.
