I hope you are not trying to tell that there is no difference between असत्
& प्रातिभासिक.
But, if you are, then I hope you know that this may not hold water.

The below post just shows that भाष्यकार was using the word असत् for both,
अलीक and प्रातिभासिक.
If you accept that he knew about even a single difference of those two,
then you must accept that he was not using the word असत् to denote that
difference, for a single word used for two different entities can't remind
us difference. Consider the usage of the word पशु for dog and cow, both.
Although, the same words was used for both, there is no point in arguing
that both are same. It's illogical to support such thing.
I praise modern scholars like नृसिंहाश्रम and मधुसूदनसरस्वती who used words
very carefully to convey the correct meaning and their difference to us.

And, if भाष्यकार didn't know about difference of those two, then even I
can't claim that I know anything.

I hope you don't want to say that he was dull enough to understand the
difference.
It is better to say : this usage of word asat by bhagavatpAda for both is
seen instead of implying/saying that bhagavatpAda didn't
know/understand/saw any difference.

> The reason is that it is not there in the locus in all periods of time.
>
If this is enough for you to accept absolute oneness or sameness of असत्
and प्रातिभासिक ; then cow and dog must be absolutely one for you.
So, I'll like to use: the reason to use same word for two different things
is a common quality, which is that both of them are not actually present
anywhere at any time.
You must know that there is no locus of शशशृङ्ग while प्रातिभासिक does have
that. (I hope locus means what is said as स्वप्रकारकधीविशेष्यम्.) So, your
above sentence is not correct.

I hope that this helps decipher words of great भाष्यकार.
