The lesson of samsara is not there is no pleasure in it.  As you say there 
is both pleasure and pain.  The lesson is that both pleasures and pains 
are _finite_.  While it lasted Rama Rajyas was like Heaven on Earth.  But 
it had to end as all Heavens and Hells eventually end.
