The knowledge of one being the non-dual reality is possible only through
Shruti taught by the Guru. And I do not consider that DSV as either outside
the Shruti or not taught by the tradition. So none of what I said means
anything contrary to what you assert.

No, no. Just to be clear, at the cost of being repetitive, DSV is not
outside the tradition and very much includes the upadesha. Factually, the
focus of DSV is only the mahAvAkya establishing aham brahma asmi and not
avAntara vAkyas, because the entire bunch of latter are grouped into
svapnavat.
Anyway each of us have our own understandings. But frankly I am surprised
