Actually in the context of Shankara's bhāṣya on the Bh.Gita, bhakti is not
divorced from Jnana. In the BGB, Shankara has used the expression
'jnānalakṣaṇā bhaktiḥ' several times, which is what is nirguna jnana or
advaita realization is. So, there is no room really for the choices that
you give above when seen in the way Shankara specifies. That is the reason
why either the BG or the Bhashya in the 6th chapter does not specify any
particular thought-form at the dying stage for the yoga-bhraṣta.
