PrANAms,
Still Ramana Maharshi did not deny the traditional path. In Sri Ramana Gita
many such doubts are cleared.

In chapter 15 Maharshi talks about chintan, manan and nidhidhyAsana

Chapyer 7 is about who qualifies for AtmaGYAna.

What I feel is that Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings are for those who have
walked 100 out of 108 steps.

Those who asked questions were not beginners but advanced sAdhaka-s. So
Maharshi tried to lift them to one step ahead and remove the last few knots
that is stopping them from Self Realisation. AshTAvakra gItA also talks
about only and only Brahma GYAna and so I'd not suitable for masses.

I remember that my father once was quoting Sri Ramana Maharshi.

Someone asked Maharshi that J Krishnamurty says that there is no need of
Guru.
Maharshi replied thst, which said so, only after AtmaGYAna one can say so
not before. Don't know from where he was quoting.

I feel Maharshi gave importance to sAdhanA. He gave importance to bhAva as
in upadesha sAram. SAdhaka had already passed to vidhi vidhAna, karma
kANDa, etc and then is stuck up somewhere. Then asks questions. To this
question Maharshi's answers are very helpful to further progress
spiritually and attain GYAna.

Hari OM
