This observation, in your second post //1. The adherents of Vedanta state
(prAhur): Outside [our own school] it is
extremely difficult (durlabha) to find one who [really] knows the Self
(Atman). // has a close resemblance to Shankara's line in the Brahmasutra
bhashya, 4th sutra:
// न ह्यहंप्रत्ययविषयकर्तृव्यतिरेकेण तत्साक्षी सर्वभूतस्थः सम एकः
कूटस्थनित्यः पुरुषो विधिकाण्डे तर्कसमये वा केनचिदधिगतः सर्वस्यात्मा ।//
Roughly translated, it is rendered thus: The witness of the pramatru, who
is inherent in everything, the same, One, unchanging eternal Purusha cannot
be realized in the karmakANDa or schools based on tarka.
