[Advaita-l] Some clarification, please

A while ago, a link to an app about Aadi Shankara was posted on this list,
and I have been reading the stories and traditions in it for a while.
In the app, it declares that Sri Hastaamalakaacharya became the first
pontiff of the Math in Puri, and that Padmapaada was the first
Shankaraacharya of the Dvarakaa Math.

But this morning, Sri Durga Prasad Janaswamy posted a link to the pages of
the Gavardhan Math at Puri.
I visited the pages but was astonished to find that the Math has Padmapaada
listed as the first pontiff and not Hastaamalaka.

Please could someone provide an authoritative answer as to who the first
Shankaraacharya appointed by Aadi Shankara was.
