The Upadesha Sahasri verse mentions << vedAntasyaiva tatvArthe
vyAssyAbhimatau >> while the above mentions << Sarvavedarthatattvavit
(somewhat) >>. Note the difference between Veda*n*ta tatva and Veda*r*tha
tatva. Brahma sutras are also called Vedanta Sutras. Hence the conclusion
that the Upadesha Sahasri verse refers to Vyasa as the author of Brahma
Sutras.
